Creative dance is a fantastic way to stay fit and have fun using your body in different ways, as well as working in groups while being free and creative. Students will experience a variety of dance styles and techniques to be used to freely express each individuals needs. Students will experience many dances with a partner or as a group.
This is a great workshop for a group to develop a group mindset and an inner communication through body; and a sense of just knowing themselves and others better. This workshop can also be tailored to create a performance piece from students work. This workshop builds a sense of strong trust within a group and as individuals.
Consists of various creative movement skills and styles:
Duration: 1 to 2 hrs.
Discover the history of mime. The use of imagination and creativity through pantomime is limitless. Everything and anything can be created within this art form. Students will experience practical exercises to create illusions of things that are not present which will become real and visible to the viewer through mime. The body is the communication, so it becomes the tool to talk with out using words. Body language is something we use every day of our lives, so these skills will become more relevant and students will gain a heightened awareness of the power and strength body languages has on all of us. Exercises and mime routines will be undertaken by all participants. Some students may like to perform their work.

Walking a type rope, washing windows, tug of war, doors & ladders
Lifting heavy objects
Puppets, presents, box, fly, magic socks

Mask and Performance Workshop
Mask and performance is an ancient art that was used in rituals and ceremonies from the beginning of time from many cultures from all around the world. The practise was usually used to please the gods and ancestors or to receive good harvests, to face cultural fears and initiations, celebrations and carnivals; and still is today. Students will experience a taste and glimpse of this ancient and mysterious art form. They will gain an understanding of what the mask represents, and will wear the mask and experience its essence and embodiment. Students will communicate through wearing masks and performing in them. The students will see, feel and wear various different cultural masks from all around the world; and develop and learn performance skills in relation to masks. This is a rich cultural workshop that allows students to understand themselves better and the masks they already see in the world and the personal masks that they use themselves.
